Role: Philanthropy Manager
Contract: 2/3 days a week – permanent
Location: Home based short term, some flexibility long term but with their HQ in East London
We’re working with one of the most cutting-edge hospices in London to find a Philanthropy Manager on a part time basis, the salary can be fairly flexible depending on number of days and experience.
Major Donor fundraising has been managed on fairly ad hoc basis over the years, with it previously falling under the remit of a de facto ‘head of high value’ who managed this alongside trust fundraising. When they moved on they rightly suggested that resources would be better allocated in the form of a dedicated fundraiser for each stream (hence us also looking for a trust fundraising manager).
When speaking to major donor fundraisers about a role like this there are often concerns about how realistic the expectations of the board are and what existing pipeline or capacity there is for major donations. Fortunately I’m (hopefully!) able to allay your fears on both counts, the board understands that it takes time for revenue to come in and for relationships to be built, they have also brought in a fundraising consultancy to analyse their potential for philanthropy and begin to map out donors. Having done so they have identified a pool of more than 30 donors who have strong ties to the charity with the capacity to give in excess of £5k and much bigger pool of donors in the ‘at least £1k’ pot.
There’s plenty more to say about this role so if you’re interested please get in touch.
