Introducing Tech to the Rescue

In a Civil Society article, Martin Francis Campbell, chair of the Digital Collective is quoted as saying, “digital is essential for charities to be relevant and to fulfil their purpose in the digital age. Those organisations which don’t embrace digital, and soon, will quickly go the way of Woolworths and Borders”.

This may be the case but, according to the 2023 Charity Digital Skills Report, 49% of UK charities are unable to afford the technology required to meet their digital needs.

However, one socially conscious organisation is on a mission to make free tech support available to nonprofits, so they don’t fall behind in the digital age.

Enter Tech to the Rescue.

About Tech to the Rescue (TTTR)

Tech to the Rescue is a Polish-based non-profit organisation that matches socially minded tech companies with charities to develop and implement pro bono digital solutions.

The brainchild of Jacek Siadkowski and Daniel Di Giusto, it launched in 2020 to bridge the technology gap that exists in the third sector.

As Siadowski explains in a CEO Magazine article, “it’s undeniable that technology is changing the world, but technology development is steered by the rules of capitalism. The attention goes where the money is.

Not-for-profits find it difficult to keep up with digital transformation because everything is advancing so fast and they don’t have the financial resources to keep up.

We direct talent to the problems which don’t have a lot of commercial potential but could positively impact millions of people”.

What do they deliver?

A noble cause. But what support do their tech partners provide?

They have 1,500 partners across the globe, skilled in everything from web design to AI automation.

These are just some of the ways they’re helping charities improve their efficacy/boost their impact:

  • machine learning tools

  • data science

  • cybersecurity
